Paddy & Scott’s Lichfield Review
Paddy & Scott’s
63/100 Working From Coffee Shops Score
A relatively small chain, Paddy & Scott’s are often seen to supply other coffee shops. A great space that’s popped up recently in Lichfield, great coffee, great space to catch up with friends, but not an ideal place to work from… but is this on purpose?
Seating & Tables
3/10
Quite a small venue but has enough seating for a few groups of people with a large bench hugging the wall. There are a few bar stools, which are probably best to be used when waiting or grabbing a quick coffee rather than slamming your 18 inch laptop on the side. Small bar stools are also scattered around, again, you wouldn’t want to have a long sitting on one of these, and the tables don’t give you enough space for a mouse, or even your coffee if your laptop is on the larger side..
Noise
8/10
The few times I have visited, it has always been a low volume venue. Many swing in to grab and go, or a quite chat with a friend in the corner.
Wifi
9/10
Free Wifi, quick and easy to log on and no need to fill out an online from each time as it will remember your device.
Coffee
8/10
Coffee is really good here, ta Muchomba Classic was being served recently and is great. Don’t be put off by the mug if you are a mug snob either..
Plug sockets
8/10
Cosidering the size of the venue, there are plenty of double plug sockets with USB ports around the bench area.
Networking
3/10
This location is more of a place where people meet to socialise away from work, with the odd remote worker hiding out of plain sight. Personally I have had no networking opportunities here.
Food & Other Drink
6/10
Food options are minimal considering the size of the establishment, but they do offer some meal deals with sandwiches and salads, and breakfast deals with pastries.
Parking
3/10
Like many of the other central coffee shops, parking isn’t on the door step. There is a pay and display carpark about 300 metres away, or you can park for free for 3 hours on Tesco which is about a mile walk.
Paws & People
8/10
Dog friendly, but not quite pram friendly as their are some small steps at the main door, so would probably deter anyone with a pram (bad for parents, good for remote workers). The usual Lichfield clientele, mostly professionals, tradesmen, and the older couple that look liek they are sitting on a bit of cash.
Opening Hours
9/10
Open nice and early at 07:30 - 18:00 Mon Fri, 09:00-16:00 Saturdays, and 10:00-15:00 Sundays.
