Insomnia Coffee Review

Insomnia Coffee Lichfield

71/100 Working From Coffee Shops Score

One of the less common coffee shop chains, Insomnia Coffee is well located within Co-Op on Bowley park. With easy parking, good seating, and the added bonus of grabbing your shopping on the way out, this is great location to work from and kill two birds with one stone!

Seating & Tables

5/10

There is a lot of seating, but the majority of the tables are small
circular tables, making it difficult to 'spread out'. You can just
about squeeze in your laptop, mouse, and coffee (priority of course).
Seating-wise, all seats are soft leather; one of the better coffee
shops for seating but lacks in table space/size. There is also a spacious area outside, if you wish to vape or be one with the outdoors during your working day.

Noise

4/10

Naturally, this location attracts shoppers and the older generation
being attached to a supermarket (Co-Op). So this is quite a busy
location during the day, with a mix of people chatting and new-born’s.
If, like me, you quite like the hustle and bustle of a coffee shop,
then this is for you; if not, you may need your noise-cancelling
earphones in, and it probably isn't an appropriate location for a team
video call.

Wifi

7/10

The Wifi has improved a lot from when it first opened. Easy to log on,
with no password required. You do get a slight delay with loading, but
works ok for video calls. (google meets).

Coffee

7/10

Hmm, my personal opinion, Insomnia isn't the best coffee in comparison to some of the other high street coffee companies.

Plug sockets

9/10

Ample amount of double plug sockets with USB ports.

Aesthetics

6/10

You will be pleasantly surprised with the interior, as mentioned above, all seats are soft leather and really comfortable. Nothing too busy going on, but enough to spark some ideas. The coffee mugs on the other hand do give off motor way services vibes.

Food & Other Drink

6/10

A decent variety of sandwiches and paninis that can be warmed up, along with the usual pastries and cakes. No food menu, so you would probably pack up when lunch time comes along.

Parking

10/10

A huge car park that shares Co-Op, Gym, and other small businesses. No time limit on parking, and a large amount of disabled and parent & toddler spaces.

Paws & People

8/10

This is quite a busy coffee shop, with a constant flow of people grabbing a coffee pre/post shopping, and the rush of tradesmen at lunch time. As with most, a mix of the older generation, new parents, and remote workers. There is a no dog policy, due to it being ajoined to Co-Op for obvious reasons.

Opening Hours

9/10

If you have already ran your 5k, had your ice bath, meditated, and clearly don’t have kids, then you can log on at 7am Monday to Saturday until 6pm. Still got work to do on Sunday? Then you can have a lie in and head over between 10pm - 4pm.
