BOD Lichfield Review

BOD Lichfield

77/100 Working From Coffee Shops Score

BOD Lichfield is a fairly new establishment, located within Streethay, a few minutes walk from Lichfield Trent Valley Railway Station. With great wifi, aesthetic, and parking, we recommend it as one of the top coffee shops to work from in Lichfield.

Seating

8/10

Many options of seating, benches, bar stools, and Chesterfield sofas to enjoy your Friday beer on. With quieter areas on the upper level, which gives you a bit more privacy and less noise for calls or meetings.

Noise

6/10

Located on a new housing estate, naturally it attracts families and dogs (not a bad thing). So during term times, it can get quite busy during the working day. One to note if you have a day of calls or need to concentrate.

Wifi

9/10

Free Wifi, quick and easy to log on and no need to fill out an online from each time as it will remember your device.

Coffee

7/10

Hit and miss, staff dependant. When first opened, the coffee was really poor, which was down to the baristas not the coffee. The coffee has improved, but you learn quickly who to order from…

Plug sockets

8/10

A good amount of plugs on most tables that are close to a wall, and within the window space.

Networking

3/10

This location is more of a place where people meet to socialise away from work, with the odd remote worker hiding out of plain sight. Personally I have had no networking opportunities here.

Food & Other Drink

5/10

Food options are minimal considering the size of the establishment, but beer choices are great with a good rotation of guest ales.

Parking

9/10

Ample parking directly outside the building, meaning you can keep an eye on your motor and not have to trek miles in the rain. Recently they have implemented a parking restriction to 3 hours, you must enter your reg details in at the bar to avoid a fine if staying longer than 30 minutes.

Paws & People

8/10

As mentioned previously, this cafe bar attracts a lot of families and is dog friendly. I have never seen or heard of any trouble or issues from customers. On weekends I imagine it would be hard to work from, but during the week days the odd dog and pram will be present, which breaks up the clientele of keyboard warriors!

Opening Hours

8/10

If you are an early starter, then you may need to log on in your car or on one of the benches outside. Opening at a later time than your average coffee shop, 0830 is when you will be able to gain access but you can finish your beer off until 8pm Mon-Wed, 11pm Thur-Sat, and 9pm Sundays.
