Chapel Coffee Review

Chapel Coffee Cannock

73/100 Working From Coffee Shops Score

The Former united form Church, built in 1824 was home and institution to many in Cannock, Staffordshire, but in 2024 it became home to Chapel Coffee. Cannocks only Specialty Coffee Roaster & Cafe space, and in our opinion, Cannocks best coffee shop!

Seating

8/10

No, no pews unfortunately, but the coffee shop favourites, chesterfield sofas along with plenty of 2 and 4 person tables. Chairs comfortable enough to do a long stint of clearing the inbox.

Noise

9/10

Whether it is because it’s an old place of worship, people seem to be really quiet in here, and I’m all for it. If you don’t have headphones, then that’s not a bad thing, they are usually playing a nostalgic playlist which will remind you of your skateboarding days.

Wifi

6/10

Wifi can be hit and miss, using a local BT hotspot or their own, which seems to disconnect you if you are dormant for a short period of time. When on, speed is more than workable for video calls.

Coffee

10/10

Honestly, the best cup of coffee by far. This is proper artisan coffee, made the right way, by baristas who know and love their craft. Roasted in house, Crown & Canvas is the coffee of choice, which you can also grab a bag on the way out.

Plug sockets

6/10

Due to the nature of the building and internal layout, plug sockets are few and far between. So locating yourself near a plug socket can sometimes be tricky, so it’s worth making sure you have a full battery before hand, just in case.

Networking

7/10

Personally I have made some good connections in here, as always, read the room and you can scope out who may be worth exchanging pleasantries with whilst ordering your coffee.

Food & Other Drink

8/10

The menu is great, some naughty treats if you crave the morning sugar along with some good brunch bites from smashed avocado to granola bowls, all instagram worthy. They are currently in the process of installing a full kitchen, so it seems it will only improve!

Parking

3/10

Due to it’s location, there is no immediate free parking. However, there is a pay and display carpark a short walk away, which only costs £3 for 3 hours.

Paws & People

8/10

Dog friendly allows you the opportunity to avoid work to stare at the four legged legends for 5 minutes. A mix of remote workers and people grabbing a coffee and chat always gives a mixed and relaxed atmosphere.

Opening Hours

8/10

9am - 3pm, Tuesday-Saturday. Unfortunately you have to settle for mediocre coffee somewhere else on a Monday, but the wait for Tuesday is worth it!
